Team Building Adventures

Your organization is suffering from a big problem!!! fragile or bruised team, which needs basic bonding, confidence and help to strengthen their sense of responsibility and purpose. Team building Adeventures can often be a better starting point. Team building activity need not always involve workshops and exercises - team building might be better achieved by arranging activities which appear to be unconnected to work.

Ask people what they think about such adventures and you'll get a wide variety of answers. Some feel that it's getting better acquainted, others talk about building trust, still others say "bonding," or learning how to solve problems as a group. And everyone agrees that there is an element of fun. In reality, team building is all of the above and more. A good team building activity creates positive interaction amongst a group, and in doing so enhances their ability to work effectively as a team when they return to the workplace. Adventure can be working together on a unique project example: boat building, racing, playing games volley ball, tug of war, putting their grey cells together to solve a murder mystery, helping each other through a ropes course, playing paintball, camping, water rafting, trekking. The possibilities are practically endless There can be options of things that people would otherwise seek out at evening classes. Perhaps lunchtime yoga or reiki or relaxation sessions might be of interest? On a breezy day maybe play softball on the park? Or maybe ask if they would like to run a lunch-time barbecue or a special food fest for clients and suppliers.

If you focus on the problem it will become a battlefield. Instead focus on fun, new positive experiences and self-fulfillment. Corporate team building activities should not generally last less than one hour, and could be adjusted to create longer team building exercises, depending on team development required. In order to narrow down the possibilities of ineffectiveness of these adventures some things should be considered before making a final decision. There are a few things you should consider like group make-up (male/female ratio, age, occupation(s), fitness level, handicaps?), size of the group, time frame for the event, budget, does every person need to participate equally? Is this a competition where a team will "win" and others will not, time of day when the activity can be conducted. A thorough detailing on these lines will always help you make your adventure most enjoyable & result oriented. Ensure the rules and regulations of the adventure activity are clearly explained, and it is appropriate - mostly - that a review takes place afterwards. Review and discussion is often useful and helpful after the activities which have raised relationship issues. Plan and practice all unknown aspects of the activities before using them. This will not only help getting desired results but has a big effect on how the team building adventure works and the experience for all. Extraordinary team building adventure will help people to explore creative solutions, practice and improve working as a team-- in a fun spirited atmosphere
